A
new system of obtaining an NVQ is available through Gates MacBain Associates which
enables a candidate to prove competence by the submission of evidence via the
internet. It provides a simpler, faster and more practical approach to NVQ
Portfolios and means less time, less paperwork, less travel and less lost work
time.
The
advantage over the traditional method is that the candidate can add evidence at
any time from any location, and once uploaded, it can be available to the
Assessor for assessment instantly. This allows the candidate more control over
the length of time it takes them to complete the qualification and gives more
flexibility with regard to the allocation of time to the NVQ.
The
system gives the candidate the ability to view all the performance criteria and
the knowledge and understanding required. It uses simple graphical presentations to show
the progress being made through the qualification in an easy to understand
format, something that can also be shared with their employer.
Evidence
is submitted though a number of different formats including:
- Documents such as meeting minutes, memo,
emails, letters and company policies etc
- Professional Discussion
- Photographs
- Videos
- Test Results
- Drawings
All of which are uploaded to the candidate's own
electronic Portfolio.
All that is required is access to a
computer; full training will be given to the candidate on Induction, with
support and guidance available on-line.
