IOSH Working Safely (1 day)

Working Safely is a one-day course for staff from any sector with no supervisory or managerial responsibility. It provides a grounding in the essentials of health and safety as required by law.

Certification

For delegates who attend the course and successfully complete the written and practical assessments, there is a choice of accreditation, either an IOSH Working safely certificate or an IOSH passport card.

IOSH Managing Safely (4 days)

Managing Safely is for those required to manage safely and effectively in compliance with both their organisation's policy and best practice in Health and Safety. Managing Safely comprises seven core modules with the option of an additional one if required.

Modules:

·         Safety management

·         Reactive monitoring

·         Risk assessment and risk control

·         Active monitoring

·         Review and audit

·         Health and safety legislation

·         Hazards - general

·         Organisation specific option

Programme content is designed to be tailored to meet individual organisation requirements.

Certification

An IOSH Managing Safely certificate is awarded to all those who successfully complete the written and practical assessments.

NEBOSH International General Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health (10 days)                        

The NEBOSH International General Certificate has been designed for managers, supervisors, worker representatives and others who require a basic knowledge and understanding of health and safety principles and practices.  It provides an appropriate depth of knowledge for non-specialists in occupational health and safety to enable them to discharge more effectively their organisational duties or functions with respect to workplace health and safety.  Candidates are likely to be employees of large organisations operating outside the UK, or of multinational companies already working to international standards but needing to adapt these to accord with local needs and practice

The syllabus is divided into the following units:

Examination Details

The examination is held twice each year, in March and September, and comprises two 2-hour written papers and a practical assessment.  Each written paper consists of one ‘long answer question and ten ‘short answer’ questions.  All questions are compulsory.  A practical assessment is held on a date set by the centre and marked by the centre’s appointed Practical Assessor and moderated by NEBOSH.
